Our Trust are winners at the Lincolnshire Education Awards

Matthew Harper in Year 10 awarded runner-up in Secondary School Student of the Year

Last month we were excited to hear that our Trust had been shortlisted in numerous categories for the 2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.

Across the Trust, we had a total of TEN nominations across FIVE categories which celebrated and recognised the achievements, talents, dedication and hard work of our students and staff.

At a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 13th July 2023 at the Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding the schools in our Trust were celebrating as we won four of the categories!

Matthew Harper in Year 10 represented Cowley Academy and was awarded runner-up for Secondary School Student of the Year in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the arts, local community and dedication to the school. We are all extremely proud of Matthew and his achievements.

Bourne Academy won Secondary School of the Year and Inspirational Secondary School Teacher of the Year and Spalding Academy won Secondary School Students of the Year and Environmental Champions.

These awards are a great testament to whole school community across the Trust and we thank everyone for their support.

  • Winner: Kiya Clarke (Spalding Academy)
  • Runners-up: Zion Serino-Jordan (Bourne Academy) and Matthew Harper (Cowley Academy)

SECONDARY SCHOOL OF THE YEAR

  • Winner: Bourne Academy
  • Runner-up: Spalding Academy

ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMPIONS

  • Winner: Spalding Academy Eco-Council & Prom Wardrobe Initiatives

INSPIRATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR

  • Winner: Miss Gemma Sanderson (Bourne Academy)
  • Runner-up: Mrs Penny Watt (Spalding Academy)

SUPPORT STAFF MEMBER OF THE YEAR

  • Runners-up: Mrs Nicky Marks (Spalding Academy) and Mrs Steph Arden (Bourne Academy)
