Graffiti and street art designs brighten up community skate park

As part of the Matthew Flinders ‘Bring Him Home’ celebrations, our students have been involved in a street art project to add some colour and vibrant designs to the skate ramps in the Flinders Founders Teen Park.

Funded by the Flinders Foundation, last weekend, our students worked with James Mayle from Imageskool, who is an experienced and talented graffiti artist.

Working with Miss O Callaghan, Head of Art at Cowley Academy, our students come up with fantastic designs that reflected Matthew Flinders with Australia, Aboriginal Art and Nautical themes that can be used on the sides of the skate ramps.

It was a great experience for our students to see their designs come to life and learn how spray paint can be effectively used as an artistic medium.

We would like to thank the Flinders Foundation for giving our students the opportunity to be involved in the community project.
