Free books for Years 7 and 8 in our Great BIG BOOK Giveaway

Earlier this month, we celebrated World Book Day and we are continuing to promote a love of reading at Cowley Academy by launching ‘The Great BIG BOOK Giveaway’ this week where we are giving away over 500 books across the Trust via a raffle.

The lucky winners from Years 7 and 8 will be issued with a gift voucher and invited to visit the school library this week to choose from an amazing selection of books that include top titles aimed at Key Stage 3 readers.

The popular titles include books from the Tom Gates series, The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man and the ever-popular Super Sleuth by David Walliams. As well as this, students could choose more a challenging read such as Murder Most Unladylike and Turtle Moon by Hannah Gold.

These books are completely FREE for the winning students to keep and they do not need to return to the library afterwards.

This initiative will further reinforce our high focus on the importance of reading as we are immensely proud to be ‘a reading school’.
