Safer Internet Day inspires young people to stay safe online

We all know how important it is to stay safe online, whether that is using the internet, social media, gaming platforms or apps via a computer, smartphone, tablet, games console, TV or even a watch.

To help reinforce the importance of this for young people and encourage debate about the topic we took part in a ‘Safer Internet Day’, which is a global campaign with the aim to make the internet a safer and better place for all.

The day provided a great opportunity to celebrate all the great things the internet has done as well as sparking conversation about the safe and responsible use of technology to inspire young people to create a better internet for the future.

The theme for this year was ‘Together for a better Internet’ and the Computer Science department at the school organised a competition where students had to create a card/poster with important messages relating to online safety or how to eliminate cyberbullying.
