Winter Recital of music and drama showcases student talents
For the perfect end of term event, there was a sell-out audience on Tuesday evening when our talented music and drama students from Years 7 to 11 performed a Winter Recital to family and friends in the school hall.
There were classic and modern Christmas songs such as ‘Silent Night’ and ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, songs from the musicals ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Shrek’ as well as pop covers from Birdy and Olivia Rodrigo offering something for everyone to enjoy. We were treated to outstanding piano solos from Enija Butane and Tyler Sedgwick with the audience holding onto every note. Our Year 11 drama students also performed a captivating scene from ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Events such as this give our students the opportunity to demonstrate their performance skills and build their confidence. We were incredibly proud of every student who held their nerves and delivered outstanding professional performances. The family, students and staff at the concert all left on a high and certainly feeling in the Christmas spirit.
A special mention goes to Miss Armstrong (Head of Music) and Ms Millard (Head of Performing Arts) for organising the evening and working with our students as the standard of performances was exceptional.
