Dress up as your favourite book character for World Book Day
These photos show the variety of costumes worn by Year 7 students in 2025 from schools across the Trust
On Thursday 5th March 2026, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 can celebrate ‘World Book Day’ by coming to school dressed as their favourite character from a book for the day.
As 2026 is the ‘Year of Reading’, we are making sure our celebrations will be bigger than ever hence making this available to all Key Stage 3 students.
As well as coming in character, students should bring a copy of the book they are dressing up as, where possible. Costumes should also represent a clearly identifiable book character.
To encourage creativity and reward students for their efforts, there will also be a ‘Best Costume’ competition in the library at 1.20pm during lunchtime with prizes for the most creative and well-presented entries.
This fun event and competition will be taking place in all schools across the Trust and is another of the many initiatives to encourage students to get into books and reading.
It is not compulsory for students to take part, but it would be great to have as many students as possible. We can’t wait to see all of the fantastic costumes that our Year 7, 8 and 9 students come to school in and we will share the highlights on the website.
