We are thrilled that Matthew Harper, Year 10 at Cowley Academy has been shortlisted for the Secondary Student of the Year at the 2023 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.
Matthew is an outstanding student and an extremely talented artist who is working beyond his years. He has put Cowley Academy on the map with his art achievements at the Royal Academy of Arts and has dedicated his time with many extra-curricular activities to benefit the local community.
Across the Trust, we have a total of ten nominations across five categories and are delighted that the talents, dedication and hard work of our students and staff are recognised so we can celebrate their achievements.

- Miss Gemma Sanderson, Teacher of Mathematics and DofE Coordinator, Bourne Academy
Support Staff Member of the Year
- Mrs Nicky Marks, Attendance & Admissions Officer, Spalding Academy
- Mrs Steph Arden, Librarian, Bourne Academy
Environmental Champion
- Spalding Academy, Eco-Council and Prom Wardrobe Initiatives
The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 13th July 2023 at the Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding.
