Mr Leonard completes his first ever London Marathon for charity
Mr Leonard truly embodied our school ethos of ‘Aspire, Challenge, Achieve’ when he completed the London Marathon at the weekend.
He initially decided to take part in the London Marathon in January 2023 with 48,000 other runners after aspriring to raise as much money as he can for charity.
Having never run more than 6 miles in one go it was going to be challenge to complete 26.2 miles, but through determination and a gruelling 16 week training schedule running 20+ miles a week, he was finally prepared for the big day.
Knowing how much the charity would benefit and having family and friends support him, meant that Mr Leonard completed his first ever Marathon in an impressive 4 hour 40 mins 03 seconds.
So far, Mr Leonard has raised over £2,700 for the charity Tommy’s, which does amazing work to support those who have experienced baby loss as well as research to prevent miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
Mr Leonard said “I would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. It was the biggest challenge I have ever completed and really had to push myself to the limit. It was an unbelievable experience and crossing the finish line was the best feeling ever!”
