Head students represent Cowley Academy on Remembrance Sunday
On Remembrance Sunday, Lexie Howarth and Chelsey Dyke who are our new Head Students represented Cowley Academy by taking part in Donington’s Remembrance Service with a procession from the market place to the church. They placed a poppy wreath on behalf of the school and read out two readings at the ceremony.
Throughout last week, students and staff have been getting involved in a variety of ways from selling poppies in aid of the Royal British Legion to incorporating Remembrance into subject lessons.
On Remembrance Day on 11th November at 11am, the whole school stopped during breaktime for a one-minute silence to mark the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the month, which was impeccably observed. Students were also allowed to come to school in their Cadet uniform.
