We welcomed a record number of visitors to our Open Evening

Last night, the first ever Open Evening as Cowley Academy saw a record number of visitors come to our school from Donington and the surrounding villages.

Over 850 students in Years 4 to 6 and their parents/carers wanted to see the  many improvements the school has made since it was renamed and became part of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust.

We were prepared for it to be a busy evening and our amazing group of student helpers worked non-stop to show groups of visitors around the expanding range of subject areas throughout the whole evening.

With a capacity audience in the school hall and so many people eager to visit on the evening, our main presentations with Mrs Conley, Executive Headteacher and Mr Martin, Head of School started earlier than scheduled and we ended up running three presentations so no one missed out.

Lucas Devaney in Year 7 was fantastic speaking so confidently in the main hall during the presentations.

We would like to thank every one of the Cowley Academy students who were amazing on the evening as they were so enthusiastic and passionate about wanting to represent the subject areas and show families around the school.

It was also a pleasure to see so many former students of The Thomas Cowley High School return with their children as they shared fond memories of being at the school.

The Open Evenings provide the perfect opportunity for parents/carers to really find out about the school as there is no substitute to seeing it in person. On the evening we received lots of positive feedback from parents who attended the Open Evening and it was so rewarding for the whole school to see so many smiling faces.
